Contact Lens Follow-Up Appointments

Once your custom lenses arrive, we begin the process of perfecting the fit of your new contact lenses.  Your eyes may need some time to adjust, and follow-up visits are crucial to ensure the lenses meet your expectations.

What to Expect During Follow-Up

  • Fit Check: At your follow-up appointment, we’ll evaluate how your lenses are fitting after a specific amount of wear time. We’ll ensure they provide optimal vision, comfort, and alignment.
  • Adjustments: If the lenses need any tweaks, such as minor changes in shape, size, or curvature, we can make those adjustments.
  • Troubleshooting: We’ll address any concerns you might have, such as discomfort, dryness, or difficulty inserting or removing the lenses. These appointments are a great time to ask questions or share feedback.

Remakes

Most scleral lens manufacturers allow up to 90 days to request remakes if adjustments are needed. This generous window gives us plenty of time to get everything just right. Whether it’s a slight fit modification or a vision enhancement, we’ll work together to make your lenses perfect.

Why Follow-Ups Are Important

The follow-up process is designed to:

  • Ensure your lenses provide the best possible vision and comfort.
  • Make any necessary adjustments to optimize fit and performance.
  • Build your confidence in handling, inserting, and removing your lenses.

These appointments are a partnership, and our goal is to ensure you’re thrilled with your new lenses and that they enhance your quality of life.
